Housing Association Refurbishment: Harling Court

2 Counties Construction was selected by housing association Platform Housing Group to complete a 14-week refurbishment of Harling Court retirement village in Ledbury, Herefordshire.

The programme comprised refurbishment of the communal areas, including internal remodelling, fire safety upgrades, energy efficiency lighting etc.  Externally, 2CC built a new six-bay charging park for electric mobility scooters and chairs, plus additional bins stores.

Planning and adherence to safe working practises were critical throughout the project as the residents were in-situ throughout the refurbishment. A communication board alerted residents to current and future works and areas were signposted and cordoned, as appropriate. 2CC developed a positive working relationship with many of the residents and the Retirement Housing Officer.

The refurbishment provides enhanced services and facilities for the 55+ and 60+ year old residents living across 41 apartments and bungalows in the heart of this bustling and idyllic Herefordshire market town.

The original 14-week programme was extended to accommodate additional requirements. This is testament to the quality of works and 2CC’s efficient project management.
